Meet "Rodney" the Donkey. This framed donkey painting on scottish elm has been hand-painted in acrylic paint on a beautiful piece of wood and then framed in reclaimed wood by my good frame Heidi of The Rustic Picture Frame Company. The reclaimed wood frame is very unique as it is edged by some beautiful bark which is orange/reddish in colour, complementing the colourings of Rodney.

I paint British wildlife on wood rather than canvas as I love using wood as a natural and sustainable background to my artwork. Much of the wood that I work with is reclaimed and therefore has some beautiful markings and character that deserve to be preserved and celebrated for years to come. This is a one-off piece of British wildlife art and having been coated in a flat matt varnish for protection, it should stand the test of time and can be treasured for a life-time.
