This beautiful fox painting on reclaimed wood has been lovingly hand-painted by me in acrylic paint. The reclaimed wood has some very unique markings on it and so I have painted Hildegarde so as to celebrate the beauty of the natural wood itself.

I paint British wildlife on wood rather than canvas as I love using wood as a natural and sustainable background to my artwork. Much of the wood that I work with is reclaimed and therefore has some beautiful markings and character that deserve to be preserved and celebrated for years to come. This is a one-off piece of British wildlife art and having been coated in a flat matt varnish for protection, it should stand the test of time and can be treasured for a life-time.
